Our Favourite Holiday Festivities

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Everywhere you turn you see the lights, hear the carols, feel the holiday spirit. The season has snuck up on us and we want to make sure you enjoy every last bit of it. Here are some of our favourite holiday festivities, so you can soak in the sights and sounds of the season! All Of The Lightscapilanolights The sparkle and shine of lights is one of the best ways to get in the merry mood. See Calgary light up with their Zoolights display at the Calgary Zoo and the Lions Festival of Lights, or see Toronto illuminate the streets with their Cavalcade of Lights, featuring the city's official Christmas tree!  For those Vancouverites, there are plenty of ways to see the twinkle, from the Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge, the VanDusen Garden Festival of Lights, to our favourite, the Bright Nights Christmas Train in Stanley Park. Trim Up The Tree With Christmas Stufftreetoronto Like bingle balls and whofoo fluff (we love our Dr. Seuss!)...after you've decorated your own tree, see the other delightfully dressed trees out there. Not only should our Toronto friends check out the 57ft tree at Nathan Phillips Square, but the Eaton Centre boasts a dazzling 50ft tree that you can enjoy while you mark those items off your shopping list. In Vancouver, you can support local charities while voting for your favourite Christmas trees. Visit the Festival of Trees at the Four Seasons Hotel supporting BC Children's Hospital, or the Sutton Place Hotel's Home for the Holidays Tree Pageant with proceeds going to PALS Autism School. Enjoy The Great Outdoorsskatingcalgary Jack Frost might be nipping at your nose, but the chill of the winter air makes us feel the warmth of the season. Lace up those skates and hit the ice at an outdoor skating rink. There are plenty to choose from: Olympic Plaza and Carburn Park in Calgary, Robson Square and Grouse Mountain in Vancouver, or Nathan Phillips Square and Natrel Rink in Toronto. We're so lucky to live in one of the biggest winter playgrounds in the world! Go tobogganing, skiing, snowboarding or tubing...there's nothing quite like fresh snow on the mountains.   No matter what or where you're celebrating, the OFK team wishes you and your families all the best this holiday season!
