Whether you're enjoying the season of sun in Vancouver or braving variable weather in Toronto, it's time to hit the beach. Summer already seems to be slipping away! So dig out your bikini, sunscreen and your chicest beach hat and head to the sandy shores of our home and native land. That's right, Canada. Who needs to hop on a plane to somewhere tropical when you can get your beach day fix right at home?
1) Third Beach - Vancouver, BC
If you can find a spot to lock up your bike along the seawall, this hipster haven is the place to be any time of the week. Located on the tip of Stanley Park, the water is clear and cool and feels like an escape from the city.
2) Sugar Beach - Toronto, ON
A new addition to the waterfront, we love the umbrellas and loungers on this cool man-made beach uniquely located near the Redpath Sugar Refinery. The urban retreat is also host to a bunch of outdoor concerts.
3) Magdalen Islands - Quebec
This small archipelago in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence boasts some seriously stunning scenery. White sandy beaches line the perimeter of beautiful jagged cliffs and red rocks which make it seem like another world.
4) Grand Beach - Winnipeg
Who knew Manitoba could look like Cape Cod? This popular stretch of beach has powdery soft sand and a bustling vibe when the entire city migrates to the lake each summer.
5) Long Beach - Vancouver Island
This amazing coastline is prime for watching cute surfers. It's nestled along the west side of Vancouver Island and offers a huge stretch of beach so you'll always find a spot to lay out your towel.
